Introducing the new F4 member, ShinDong!

About 8 hours ago, Super Junior’s ShinDong tweeted his response to the popular topic trend amongst the stars right now, “Who do they most resemble?”. ShinDong’s result? His looks have a 23% similarity to Lee Min Ho.

The caption within the photo asks, “Although not very similar, if I have to pick one…” With the ironic photo he posted, he wrote, “I’m so sorry“.

His fans replied, “You dont have to apologize, it’s funny“, “Unintended punch at Lee Min Ho“, “23%~~~ So not similar!“.

No wonder he is part of Suju, he has proof now.

Moon Geun Young confirmed for “Mary Skipped the Curfew”

The speculation that the Geuns (Jang Geun Suk & Moon Geun Young) will co-star in “Mary Skipped the Curfew” has been confirmed.

“Mary Skipped the Curfew” is scheduled to air on November after KBS “SungKyunKwan Scandal”. According to the publisher agent, “Moon Geun Young will play the part of Mary Wee, a daughter who endures through the hardships of life after her father’s business failure. Mary is an innocent and optimistic feminist”.

In the script, Mary is in a 100 day two-way virtual marriage with a broke, indie band lead vocalist Kang Moo Kyul and with rich, charismatic, successful Jung In.

Won Su Yeon’s original work of the same title revolves around Mary, who is in a virtual marriage with two men. One is a rocker with a robust yet amiable personality while the other one is a guy who grew up romanticizing a relationship with Mary. Small changes but the latter rendition appeals to our generation.

Moon Geun Young replied, “There has never been a similar story and the characters are very fascinating. Although I’m nervous of being in an virtual marriage, I’m very excited to personify Mary”, describing her thoughts on the drama. She added, “Just like how the characters in tv dramas give hope to Mary, I’ll try my hardest to act as a catalyst for the viewers’ hopes, dreams, and memories.”

Super Junior is high class even in the waiting room

It seems as though Super Junior members have a pictorial-like pose even when resting.

On the 13th, Super Junior’s Donghae uploaded a picture onto his Twitter with the caption, “Dream Concert waiting room ^^ it ended very late T-T. To all the ELFs who waited for a long time…thank you!! I’ll be careful on my way home!! Good Night ^^”

The picture shows the Super Junior members sitting inside a tent waiting room wearing handsome black suits. In particular, Leeteuk’s agonistic expression with his hands folded together drew laughter from fans. It was a shame that the photographer made a mistake and only captured half of Yesung’s face.

It doesn’t surprise me that the Super Junior members can even make the inside of a tent look glamorous with their presence.

Pictures from the 2010 Hallyu Dream Concert

The 2010 Hallyu Dream Festival took place last weekend with various events lined up for fans at the Kyungju Gymnasium and Kyungju Citizen’s Stadium from September 10 – 12th.

The most anticipated event however took place on the last day of the festival, where a Hallyu Dream Concert was held at the Kyungju Citizen’s Stadium. This concert had been planned in conjunction with the Visit Korea project from 2010 – 2012, and for those in Korea and overseas to enjoy the drama, fashion and music which are the main elements to the Hallyu wave.

A line-up of 22 Kpop artists/groups including Super Junior, 2PM, KangTa, 2AM, 2NE1, SE7en, 4minute, BEAST, Son Dambi, KARA, After School, miss A, F.T. Island, Supernova, Davichi, T-ara, MBLAQ, U-Kiss, ZE:A, Secret, Flower, Seo In Kook took to the stage.

And the punishing schedules of artists these days seems to have had an effect with certain groups either missing a member/performing with injuries during their performances last night.

- 2PM’s Junsu missed out with an injured index finger

- KARA’s Seungyeon missed out with her injured back

- miss A’s Suzy performed with a cast around her right ankle injury

- 2NE1’s Park Bom had to get an IV drip after the concert due to fatigue and flu

Those were what we gathered from various news sources, and we hope there isn’t any that’s not reported. We wish them well. Meanwhile, check out selected news pictures from below.

Jang Keun-suk to play Indie rocker in new drama

Korean actor and singer Jang Keun-suk has signed on for a role in an upcoming KBS drama, according to his agency Tree J. Company on Friday.

Tree J. announced in a press release that he will be playing the role of an Indie rocker in the series, based on the web-based cartoon by writer Won Soo-yeon, tentatively titled "Mary is Staying Out Overnight.

Won Soo-yeon is the writer of the comic series "Full House" whose small screen adaptation in 2004 starred top Korean star Rain and actress Song Hye-kyo.

"Mary" is about a girl named Jung-in who has never been in a romantic relationship and instead has two fake marriages with two separate guys, a perfectionist and a leader singer of a band, with completely different personalities.

"I feel more pressured choosing a project that involves singing. It makes me wonder if I have a set image as an actor who only plays musicians in dramas," Jang was quoted as saying, adding that he enjoyed reading the synopsis for "Mary."

"I feel like I am making a return and as an actor I get the most joy in starring in a new drama," Jang continued to explain. "I am putting everything into 'Mary' and hope to show the audience something new."

"Mary is Staying Out Overnight" will premiere in the country in November.

Jang, 23, rose to fame with his roles in MBC's sitcom "Nonstop 4" (2003) and "Beethoven Virus" (2008). He became a household throughout Asia last year through his role of the eccentric lead singer in the hit SBS' series "Minamishineyo."

He recently wrapped up his Asia tour in Korea last weekend, which kicked off six months ago, where he met with numerous fans in Taiwan, Beijing, Singapore, Tokyo, Osaka and Hong Kong.

Jang Keun-suk: The prince of charms

Actor Jang Keun-suk sings for fans at his fan meeting "2010 Jang Keun-suk Asia Tour The Last in Seoul" held at Korea University in Seoul, South Korea on September 5, 2010. [Lee Jin-hyuk/10Asia]

On the afternoon of September 5, the "2010 Jang Keun-suk Asia Tour The Last in Seoul" took place in Korea. But there is a need to ride yourself of the prejudice that 'all fan meetings are the same.' In front of the fans from various countries in Asia including Korea, Japan, China and Taiwan, Jang Keun-suk, who appeared dressed like Steve Jobs with his black turtleneck and jeans, gave a fancy prensentation on himself for over 40 minutes. From how he was crowned the first boy to win a contest in 1995 picking the prettiest child in the country, to how he remains stubborn about "not getting a six pack on the abs despite continued demand for it," to his pride in being able to say with his very own lips that he used to be a 'fresh handsome boy' during his teens, Jang's unique eloquence in speaking had a charm about it which was not boring to listen to even for the viewer who is not a fan. The moment where he confesses, "My hair will get messed up if I put on this mask but I did it. [Raises voice] And it was for you!" shows the pinnacle of his showmanship.

The reason that he can even make his show off lines such as "Many people say 'Jang Keun-suk's cute abs' but I'm only interested in having an S-line" or "The streets of Hong Kong have been blocked several times because of me" not sound annoying is because he knows in what light people see him as well as it also being his talent to be able to continuously makes jokes out of those remarks. It indeed was a fan meeting 'of, by and for Jang Keun-suk.' It is a Jang Keun-suk-ness which cannot be felt unless you have not been there.
